In April, we delivered news that CBS had green-lighted its new soap The Gates and since then, not only has the show’s title been updated to Beyond the Gates, we are happy to report that a premiere date has been set. Mark your calendars fans, because starting on Monday, February 24, 2025, the daytime drama will begin to unfold every weekday from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm., taking the place of The Talk, which was cancelled earlier this year.
Creator, executive producer and showrunner Michele Val Jean has worked alongside executive producers Sheila Ducksworth, Robert Guza Jr., Julie Carruthers, Leon W. Russell, Derrick Johnson, Kimberly Doebereiner and Anna Saalfeld to deliver the soap that will take viewers inside the leafy Maryland suburb, just outside of Washington, D.C., in one the most affluent African American counties in the United States.
And if you haven’t heard, the posh gated community with winding tree-lined streets and luxurious mansions, will feature the Duprees, a powerful and prestigious multi-generational family that is the very definition of Black royalty. However, behind the pristine walls and lush, manicured gardens are juicy secrets and scandals waiting to be uncovered. While those inside may be working to keep those secrets hidden, other outside the gates will be watching closely.
