We are very saddened to report that during an attempted robbery on May 25, General Hospital’s Johnny Wactor (ex-Brando) was shot and killed in downtown Los Angeles, per TMZ. His mother Scarlett confirmed to the outlet that she lost her son in the early morning hours when he and a co-worker spotted three men messing with the actor’s car.
Though no details, including his name, have been released, the incident matches the description of one in which three suspects allegedly attempted to steal a catalytic converter. Wactor’s mom also shared that she was told her son didn’t try to fight off or stop the suspects, but in the end, they shot him regardless, then left the scene.
The outlet is also reporting that according to police information, paramedics headed to the scene a little bit after 3 am PT, but Wactor was pronounced dead at the hospital. As of right now, there has been no description of the suspects provided by authorities, but Scarlett is hopeful that they will be found quickly and relayed that her son was a loving young man, whose death leaves a huge hole in their family’s heart.
In a subsequent report, it came to light that Wactor had just finished a bartending shift and had been walking a female co-worker to her car when he came upon the thieves. At first, he was said to believe that he was being towed. When he realized that that wasn’t the case, he stepped in front of his co-worker to shield her, and it was at that point that he was shot.
We send our deepest condolences to Scarlett, Wactor’s younger brothers Lance and Grant, his extended family, friends and General Hospital castmates.
