Our thoughts are with All My Children alum and Something Borrowed actor Colin Egglesfield (Josh), who recently underwent surgery for prostate cancer. The former soap star took to Instagram to share his latest cancer diagnosis and the positive outlook he continues to have during the most recent hurdle of his cancer journey.
Egglesfield, who was diagnosed and treated for testicular cancer in 2006, only to have it return a year later, recalled a quote from an interview he had given when he was 25… “It’s not the hand that you’ve been dealt because you can’t change that. It’s how you play the cards that counts.”
Noting that it had served him well throughout life, Egglesfield explained, “Thankfully, we caught my prostate cancer early and after a year of doing a lot of research and talking to quite a few health care professionals, I elected to be proactive and have surgery.”

He thanked Dr. Gellhaus, as well as the other doctors, nurses and staff at City of Hope Cancer Center for supporting him through this “scary time” and wanted to remind those who are facing similar situations that “you’re not alone.”
Of his recovery, Egglesfield reported, “I’m still a bit sore but I’m making progress and am determined to come back stronger and healthier than ever especially with the help of my sexy walker,” to which he gave followers a peek at in the second pic.
Next month, the actor will be “leading City of Hope and their Cancer Fighters program” as a way to “support others on their cancer journey. Let’s go! You’re not alone!”
